Rumor: PlayStation Event Expected This December – Here’s What We Know

0

Rumours are swirling about the possibility of an upcoming PlayStation State of Play or a new event, according to a reliable insider. Some reports suggest the event could happen in less than a week. Here’s everything you need to know about the speculations and their credibility.

Rumours Claim a New PlayStation State of Play is Imminent

According to Bilbil-Kun, one of the Industry’s reliable and reputed insiders has hinted that a new PlayStation event is happening. However, he did not mention any dates but confirmed that the majority of the company staff are gearing up for an event.

Meanwhile, community speculation has connected these developments to a potential December 3 event, coinciding with the console’s 30th anniversary. Despite this, Sony has yet to make any official announcement about the State of Play or PlayStation Showcase.

A new PlayStation ad from the “Play Has No Limits” campaign has sparked rumours about a December 3 event. The ad featured cryptic details resembling the date, fueling expectations. Yet, journalist Jeff Grubb has dismissed the likelihood of a major event, urging fans to manage their expectations despite the anniversary’s significance.

Leaked details also hint at new black variants of PS5 accessories, such as the DualSense Edge wireless controller and Pulse Explore earphones, which could launch soon. Sony could potentially host an event before the year ends, especially considering their announcement of having no major exclusives this year. This event might serve as a platform to showcase their upcoming games for next year. Meanwhile, the upcoming Game Awards 2024 on December 12 might offer additional PlayStation-related announcements, including updates on Death Stranding 2 and other exclusive titles.

For now, all these details remain unconfirmed, and fans are advised to stay tuned for official updates from Sony.

As we step into the final month of the year, Sony has revealed the last PlayStation Plus lineup for December 2024, announced on Wednesday. In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the company has also introduced some exciting extras. Here’s a look at the games joining the PS Plus service this December, along with the additional bonuses.

PlayStation Plus Monthly Games For December 2024

Starting December 3, PS Plus subscribers can dive into It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Temtem, available to play until January 6, 2025.

It Takes Two (PS4, PS5)

Developed by Hazelight Studios, It Takes Two is a co-op action-adventure game designed exclusively for two players, much like the studio’s debut title, A Way Out. The game offers no single-player option, requiring players to team up either online or through local split-screen multiplayer. The game follows a couple transformed into dolls as they navigate a fantastical world, seeking to repair their relationship.

Players can also invite another person to join online co-op with them for free via Friend Pass

Aliens: Dark Descent (PS4, PS5)

As the name implies, the game is set in the Alien universe and is a real-time strategy mixed with Survival horror elements. Debuted in June 2023, players have to issue commands to a squad of four Colonial Marines to combat both the relentless Xenomorphs and rogue agents from the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. The game features five starting character classes, each with its unique weapons and abilities.PlayStation Plus December 2024

Temtem (PS5)

Rounding out December’s lineup is Temtem, a creature-collecting MMORPG from Spanish developer Crema, heavily inspired by the Pokemon series. Players explore the world capturing Temtem creatures and engaging in strategic double battles, whether against NPCs or other players, in a 2×2 battle format reminiscent of Pokémon’s double battles.

Sony PlayStation 5 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle India Launch Date and Price Revealed

0

If you are feeling disappointed that the latest PS5 Pro is not making it into the Indian markets soon, there is something else that you can try if you are a retro gamer. Sony is gearing up to launch PlayStation 5 30th Anniversary edition bundle in India. The product promotion banners have been spotted by social media geeks on Amazon India and ShopAtSC which revealed the release dates and pricing. Check out more details below.

PlayStation 5 30th Anniversary Collection: Price and Availability in India

PlayStation 5 30th Anniversary Collection is set to release in India on November 21, 2024, and will be available for purchase via Amazon India, ShopAtSC, and select retail outlets. Pre-orders are already live for the items listed below:

  • PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Console with 30th Anniversary Edition DualSense Wireless Controller: Rs 49,999 (pre-order)
  • DualSense 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Wireless Controller: Rs 6,849 (pre-order)
  • DualSense Edge 30th Anniversary Edition Controller: Rs 20,999 (pre-order)
  • PlayStation Portal Remote Player (30th Anniversary Edition): Rs 20,799 (pre-order)

Notably, these 30th-anniversary models are priced slightly higher than their regular counterparts, reflecting their limited edition status. The 30th Anniversary bundle also includes the latest PS5 Pro in the same appearance. However, the original PS5 Pro is not able to enter Indian markets, and it is very unlikely that Sony India to launch the PS5 Pro 30th anniversary edition.

The collection features a unique design inspired by the original PlayStation, including a retro grey colour and a 30th-anniversary badge. It also comes with a custom connector cable reminiscent of the original console’s design. Sony has stated that each unit will include a specific edition number, with only 12,300 PS5 Pro units made available worldwide.

Upcoming PS5 Pro and Global Release

While Sony recently announced the powerful PlayStation 5 Pro with upgraded GPU, ray-tracing, and doubled storage, its release plans for India are surely delayed. This high-end model offers superior performance, making it Sony’s most advanced and expensive console to date.

For long-time PlayStation fans, the 30th Anniversary Collection represents a rare opportunity to own a piece of the brand’s history—perfect for both nostalgic collectors and newcomers alike.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut Drops on Xbox Series X/S Surprisingly With a Discount

death stranding directors cut

In a surprise announcement, Kojima Productions has launched Death Stranding Director’s Cut on Xbox Series X/S, just ahead of the game’s five-year anniversary. Originally a PlayStation 4 exclusive upon its release in 2019, Death Stranding has since expanded to PC, PlayStation 5, and Apple devices, making its journey to various platforms over the years. Here are more details.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut Dropped on Xbox Series X/S Surprisingly

Death Stranding Director’s Cut was released for Xbox Series X/S and PC on November 7, 2024. The game has been a PlayStation exclusive since its launch in 2024. Despite the game being launched on Windows in 2020, the game never arrived on Xbox. However, the game is now available on Apple devices.

Director’s Cut is an extended version of the base game which launched for PS5 on September 24, 2021. It offers enhancements including new gameplay missions, high framerate support, photo mode, and ultrawide monitor compatibility. For Xbox players, the game supports cloud saves, Xbox Achievements, and Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing a single purchase for play across both Xbox consoles and Windows PCs with synced progress and achievements.

Kojima Productions is celebrating the Xbox launch with a limited-time 50% discount, bringing the price down to Rs 1,249.50. In addition to the Xbox release, Death Stranding Director’s Cut is now available on Amazon Luna, offering Prime subscribers a month of free access starting December 1.

Death Stranding’s arrival on Xbox marks a new chapter in the collaboration between Kojima Productions and Xbox Game Studios, with their upcoming title, OD, set to be published by Xbox. Furthermore, Kojima Productions recently regained full IP rights for Death Stranding from 505 Games, hinting at potential releases on additional platforms. The much-anticipated sequel, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, is set for a 2025 release on PlayStation 5, with the possibility of future multi-platform availability.

Sony Confirms PlayStation 5 Pro (PS5 Pro) Won’t Launch in India Due to Wi-Fi 7 Restrictions

0
ps5 pro

Sony has officially confirmed that the all-new PlayStation 5 Pro, popularly called PS5 Pro will not be coming to India soon due to some regulatory limitations. The reasons cited by Sony are so surprising and disappointing for Indian gamers who are eager to experience the new console despite its high price. Here is more you need to know about it.

Sony is Not Releasing PS5 Pro in India Citing WiFi 7 Restrictions

Earlier today, Sony India made an official statement through a press release which says the PS5 Pro will not be available in some countries including India. The complete statement is as follows:

PS5 Pro will not be available in some countries (which presently includes India) where 6GHz wireless band used in IEEE 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) has not yet been allowed.

The PS5 Pro’s hardware enhancements—including a custom AMD processor, advanced ray tracing, faster frame rates, and support for native 4K and select 8K gaming—make it a major upgrade over the standard PS5. Wi-Fi 7 is central to these improvements, offering speeds up to 46 Gbps and reduced latency for smoother streaming, faster downloads, and more seamless online gaming. By integrating Wi-Fi 7, the PS5 Pro is designed to deliver an immersive gaming experience. However, in regions like India, where the 6GHz band remains unauthorized for public use, these benefits are inaccessible.

Sony’s decision to delay the PS5 Pro’s India launch is surprising, as many other Wi-Fi 7-compatible devices, like Intel’s Lunar Lake laptops, Apple’s iPhone 16 series, and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, are available in the Indian market.

India’s unavailability of Wi-Fi 7 isn’t unique to Sony. The issue stems from ongoing debates over the 6GHz band’s usage, with telecom operators pushing for it to be licensed for 5G, while tech companies advocate for keeping it unlicensed for Wi-Fi. The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) is lobbying for 6GHz to support 5G, which clashes with the needs of Wi-Fi-reliant devices like the PS5 Pro. This regulatory impasse has held back the rollout of Wi-Fi 7 in India, while regions like the US, EU, and parts of East Asia have already authorized its use.

Despite the regulatory roadblocks, Indian gamers eager to access the PS5 Pro may find it in the grey market. However, these units are sold at inflated prices—up to one lakh rupees—and come with no official warranty, as the console’s retail price is around Rs 59,000 ($699).

Sony has not provided a specific timeline for the PS5 Pro’s launch in India. However, the company is actively working with regulators to expedite the approval process for the 6GHz band. Once the band is approved, the PS5 Pro could potentially launch in India in the near future.

Until then, Indian gamers will have to settle for the standard PS5 or explore other gaming options.

  • KAY/O and Yoru Interaction: KAY/O can no longer be picked up by Yoru while his NULL/cmd ability is active, preventing unintended interactions during Dimensional Drift.

Map Fixes

On the Abyss map, Riot addressed an exploit where players could destroy the breakable mid-doors from certain angles, restoring the intended balance to this area.

Platform-Specific Adjustments

PC Updates

In Premier mode, the standings dropdown now displays Invite divisions for all zones and automatically adjusts the zone selection based on the chosen division. Other PC-specific bug fixes include:

  • Early Agent Select Access: Players can no longer bypass the “Match Found” popup by leaving parties early to enter Agent Select.
  • Field of View (FOV) Exploit: Riot has removed an FOV stretching exploit that occurred with a 4:3 resolution in windowed mode.
  • Premier Competitor Crest: The Competitor Crest now correctly displays on the Premier career page for players who have earned it.

  • Friend Requests: Issues with friend requests on consoles, such as blocked players receiving them or requests failing to send, have been resolved.
