The relaunch of BGMI in urban areas has been met with widespread enthusiasm from its fanbase and the gaming community. Following this relaunch, Bollywood’s prominent actor, Tiger Shroff, made a significant entry into the Indian Esports industry by investing an undisclosed amount in Revenant Esports. Renowned for its standing in the community, this collaboration is poised to further elevate the organization’s reach. The official announcement of this strategic investment was made through a joint press release on May 29, 2023.

This strategic investment is a substantial boost for Revenant Esports, as it will enable them to augment their Esports rosters, support content creators, fortify boot camp infrastructure, and reignite their aspiration to position Revenant Esports as the premier Esports organization in India while extending their influence globally.

Here is what Revenant Esports CEO Has to Say About Tiger Shroffs’ Partake in the Organization

“We are delighted to welcome Tiger Shroff to the Revenant Esports family. Everyone is well aware of his fondness for gaming and connects with the millennial and Gen Z audience. In Revenant, he has the perfect platform to be more actively involved with the Indian gaming community. The entertainment industry starting to set foot in the world of gaming is massively beneficial to the industry as it helps spread awareness about its potential and importance among the not-so-informed Indian population. Tiger’s massive fanbase and his zeal for gaming will accelerate our vision of creating an enriching and engaging ecosystem for our organization as well as for the Esports community as a whole,” said Rohit Jagasia, CEO and Founder of Revenant Esports.

The founder of Revenant, Rohit entered the Indian esports community with a single-roster of BGMI in 2021, and the organisation has since grown many folds, with the organisation now having multiple content creators and multi-game rosters that not only compete in numerous major Esports tournaments but also win laurels for the country.

On the other hand, Tiger Shroff has a tremendous enthusiasm for fitness, games, and MMA, and he is also a passionate Esports enthusiast. He has made his passion for gaming known in the past by participating in numerous gaming events. The young superstar’s choice has triggered the convergence of the two strong genres in movie and esports–a concoction that has all the makings of one of the most successful brand alliances.

Speaking on what this association means to him, Tiger Shroff said, “Revenant Esports is one of the biggest names of the Esports landscape in India and I am delighted to be a part of it. They have achieved commendable success in such a short span and with the gaming and Esports revolution taking the country by storm I am confident that both Rohit’s and my passion, knowledge, and vision will help us to achieve remarkable success and experience.  Being an ardent gamer myself and having followed the industry closely, also hope to use this association as a launchpad to more meaningful growth in the sector.”

Revenant Esports is home to some of the country’s greatest Esports players as well as top creators of content. The organisation has proven its worth on the regional and national levels by partaking in and winning several international events such as the BGMI: Master Series (Star Sports) Valorant: Valorant Challengers League South Asia, Pokemon Unite: Asia Champions League 2023, Brawl Stars: ESL Masters Japan, Apex Legends: ALGS Split 2 playoffs, and CODM: World Championship 2021.

They have just brought on three of the most popular content makers in the Indian gaming market, Emperor Plays, Bitty, and Ayush, and intend to add more significant creators in the coming months.
Last year, their Pokemon Unite squad became the first Indian team to compete in the Pokemon Unite World Championships in London.

According to the most current Lumikai Gaming Report, Indian gaming businesses have raised $2.8 billion from investors in the previous five years, to raise $513 million by the end of 2022. The funding is increasing by 380% from 2019 and 23% in 2020.

Revenant recently signed high-profile brand partnerships with major brands AMD, PUMA, CORSAIR, and CYBEART. This investment from a significant Bollywood figure demonstrates how the entertainment business may capitalise on the Indian Esports industry’s infinite potential.
