The 96th Academy Awards already happened on March 10, 2024, where Hollywood’s finest have been awarded with Oscars. Oscars 2024 saw Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster biopic” Oppenheimer” dominate the night, winning seven Oscars including Best Picture and Best Director.
Despite losing the box office crown to the surprise summer hit “Barbie” last year, Christopher Nolan’s dramatic biopic “Oppenheimer” emerged victorious at the Oscars 2024. Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” managed to snag only one award for Best Original Song.
The 2024 Oscars saw a milestone for Irish actors as Cillian Murphy became the first from his nation to win Best Actor. This win, alongside his first nomination, marked a remarkable achievement. It was also a historic moment for Christopher Nolan, as “Oppenheimer” marked his first-ever win after multiple nominations throughout his career.
Another highlight of the night is Robert Downey Jr. has won his first Oscar award. The popular Marvel superhero (Ironman) took home the award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in “Oppenheimer.” This was his first acting Oscar win, though it was his third nomination overall.
