PMGC 2023 Grand Finals: Sixteen Finalists to Fight for Glory and Ultimate Championship

PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2023 (PMGC 2023) is the final tournament of the title this year. The tournament kicked off on November 2 with the league stage featuring 48 competing teams in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The league stage consists of three phases: Group Stage (Nov 2 – Nov 19), Survival Stage (Nov 22-Nov 24), and Last Chance (Nov 25-Nov 26). The league stage has now been completed and we have the final stage of the tournament i.e., the Grand Finals.

PMGC 2023 Grand Finals: All You Need to Know

A total of 16 finalists have made it to the Grand Finals stage from the league phase. The sixteen finalists are mentioned below:

  12. DXavier Esports (Vietnam) – Last Chance Qualifier
  13. Persija Evos (Indonesia) – Last Chance Qualifier

The Grand Finals will be played by the above-mentioned teams and will take place from December 8 to December 10, 2023. The three-day-long finals will feature a total of 18 matches and the team with the highest cumulative points on the overall standings on the third day will be declared as the champion.

The Grand Finals of PMGC 2023 will take place in Istanbul, Turkey(home ground of S2G Esports) and they will be streamed live on PUBG Mobile Official Esports YouTube Channel.

Prize Pool Distribution

The Grand Finals of PMGC 2023 will have a prize pool of $1.4 million USD and each team will get $15,000 USD as a participation reward.

PMGC 2023: League Stage Recap

The Group stage which took place from Nov 2 to Nov 19 had split 48 teams into three groups with sixteen teams each as Group Green, Red and Yellow. The Group stage was conducted in a round-robin format across these three groups with each team would get to play a total of 24 matches with 6 matches being held each day. The top three teams from each group had advanced to the Grand Finals.

The teams that ranked 4th to 11th (eight teams from each group) in the Group Stage leaderboards were moved to the Survival Stage while the rest were eliminated from the tournament. 24 teams were split into three groups of eight teams each. For three days, each group had to play in a round-robin format which amounts to a total of 18 matches overall. The top 16 teams after day 3 had advanced to Last Chance Qualifiers.

The last chance qualifiers took place for 2 days and 12 matches were played by sixteen teams. The top five teams in this round made it into the Grand Finals while the rest took the way to their homes.

Teams like Bigetron Esports, and Dplus Kia have failed to qualify for the Grand Finals. Bigetron Esports fell short of 9 points in the Last Chance Qualifiers and was ultimately eliminated from the race of Grand Finals.
