The PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2021 serves as the culmination of PUBGM’s competitive season in 2021, boasting a substantial prize pool of 3.49 million USD announced during their prominent charity showdown event. This tournament is set to feature teams that emerged victorious in their respective league events within their regions.

The tournament league stages were run in the East and West regions from Nov 30 -Dec 19, 2021. 20 teams will compete in their respective league stages of regional events. The top 16 teams will qualify for the League finals which were set to take place from Dec 22-Dec 24, 2021. As a result of those regional league finals, 9 teams from EAST and 6 teams from WEST have qualified for the PMGC 2021 Grand Finals.

Originally, the champion of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 was expected to secure the final slot. However, Skylightz Gaming claimed this title. According to the rulebook, the top 3 teams from BGIS 2021 were unable to travel abroad, leading to Team Godlike, who finished in the 4th spot and adhered to the rules, being granted the slot. Let’s take a closer look at all the teams poised to participate in the PMGC Grand Finals 2021.

Here are the teams that have been qualified from EAST:

  1. Damwon Gaming – South Korea
  2. D’Xavier – Vietnam
  3. Stalwart Esports – Mongolia
  4. Nova Esports –China
  5. Nigma Galaxy – Middle East
  6. The Infinity – Thailand
  7. Six two eight – China
  8. Team Secret – Malaysia
  9. 4 Rivals – Malaysia

Following are the teams that have been qualified from WEST:

  1. Kaos Next Ruya – Turkey
  2. Natas Vincerev – CIS
  3. Furios Gaming – Chile
  4. Alpha7 Esports – Brazil
  5. S2G Esports – Turkey
  6. 1907 Fenerbahce Esports – Turkey

The last finalist is Godlike Esports from India which finished at 4th place in BGIS 2021 Grand Finals. All the team players of Team Godlike have the best gaming skills and they have prior experience of performing at the international level except Zgod. PMGC Grand Finals 2021: Schedule and Format

PMGC 2021 Grand Finals are set to take place for three days i.e., Jan 21, 2022, to Jan 23, 2022. Over three days, 16 finalists will play 6 matches per day which equates to a total of 18 matches. Post Match 18, the team with the highest aggregate score will be declared the champion of PMGC 2021.

PMGC 2021 Grand Finals: Prize Pool Distribution

The tournament’s prize pool is 3.49 Million USD. PMGC 2021 Champions will take home 1.5 million USD, whereas the first and second runner-ups will be rewarded with 600K USD and 300K USD respectively. The prize pool distribution for teams down the line is yet to be declared.

Speaking of the points table, here is how placement points are awarded to teams participating in a single match:

  • 1st place: 15 points
  • 2nd place: 12 points
  • 3rd place: 10 points
  • 4th place: 8 points
  • 5th place: 6 points
  • 6th place: 4 points
  • 7th place: 2 points
  • 8th-12th place: 1 points
  • 13th-16th place: 0 points
    • Each kill will be awarded with 1 points
