Remarkably, the award ceremony of the Esports Awards 2023 included the induction of the Lifetime Achievement.

It was a pride and honoured moment for Indians as S8UL won the ‘Content Creator of The Year’ award at this event. In 2022, the same organisation achieved the ‘Content Group of the Year’ award and this year is a second win for the organization. The award was received by its Co-founder Naman Mathur, popularly known as Mortal who has been nominated for ‘Esports Personality of the Year’ in 2022 and 2023. However, he did not win the award but his organization has made it again. Many believe that Mortal’s era has come to an end and his YouTube channel is not running quite well as it used to be, but we see him at a place where no one was able to.

Xbox Game Pass Adds Remant: From the Ashes and Remnant 2 Quietly

Remnant: From the Ashes and its sequel, Remnant 2, have been discreetly added to both Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. These new games had not been announced before their addition to the game pass but the move was highly welcomed. As both games have good records and reviews, their addition seems valuable to the users of Game Pass.

Gunfire Games’ Remnant: From the Ashes and Remnant 2 are third-person survival action shooter titles, which are often described as Souls-like shooters and are now available on Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. Remnant: From the Ashes was released in 2019 while its sequel was released recently in July 2023.

Neither of these titles was included in Microsoft’s unveiling of the upcoming Game Pass releases for the second half of November, which highlighted Persona 5 Tactica, Dune: Spice Wars, and Rollerdome.

The first game in the Remnant series received generally favourable reviews and by December 2021, it had surpassed 3 million units in sales with two additional DLCs. Its sequel, Remnant 2 was announced during the Game Awards 2022, and much to the exceptional expectations, the game outperformed its prequel both in terms of sales and reviews.

Remnant 2 marked its first high record by having sold more than a million copies in the first week of release in the United States. Attaining a peak concurrent player count exceeding 110,000 on PC through Steam alone, it even surpassed Baldur’s Gate 3, this year’s unforeseen gaming sensation, in terms of Steam sales for a specific period.

With this remarkable success, the game has earned a nomination in the Best Action Game category at The Game Awards 2023, scheduled for December 7. Several players anticipated this announcement at The Game Awards 2023 but Microsoft seems to have different plans for it. We may expect more titles to be added in the coming days.

According to a report, we may witness first-party titles like Far Cry 6, Goat Simulator 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider coming to the subscription service in December. In an event at the Wells Fargo TMT Summit, the Chief Financial Officer of Xbox expressed the company’s aims to bring Game Pass to consoles of PlayStation, Nintendo and possibly every playable screen.

2023 has been a great year for Xbox Game Pass and the company with the release of AAA titles like Starfield, Ghostwire, Cocoon, Forza Motorsport and more.

Capcom’s latest showcase revealed Dragon Dogma 2’s release date and more details regarding the sequel of 2012’s action RPG hack-and-slash game series. The game was initially announced in June 2022 and during the recent showcase, we have learnt many details about the new game.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is an action-packed RPG with a strong narrative set in a fantastical realm. Players can engage in a range of activities, and the Pawn system creates a sense of companionship in this single-player experience. The game unfolds in a captivating fantasy realm where the feared Dragon seizes the player’s heart, initiating a quest for the player to vanquish the Dragon as the Arisen.

The world in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is populated by diverse races, each driven by their unique agendas and motivations.

Apart from offering a fantastical world for its players, A standout feature of the game lies in the ability to craft your character (the Arisen) and the primary Pawn dedicated to the Arisen’s service. The game enhances character creation for a more realistic experience using advanced photogrammetry technology. Players can seamlessly and effortlessly fashion their characters, opting for an intuitive approach or delving meticulously into the details of customization.

As anticipated, Dragon’s Dogma 2 remains dedicated to amplifying the intense, expansive action that characterized its predecessor. Capcom disclosed that the sequel deviates from a direct continuation of the original game, opting for an alternate universe setting. Similar to its predecessor, Dragon’s Dogma 2 initiates with The Dragon seizing the player character’s heart. The game invites players to delve into the Human Kingdom of Vermund and the beastren nation of Battahl. The recently unveiled gameplay video also introduces many new characters, featuring the formidable giant Talos.

Pre-Order Price, Editions Details

Deluxe Edition; Image via PlayStation

Speaking of its price, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is Capcom’s first $70 game with the standard editions for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam are all marked at $70 USD, while the deluxe edition carries a price tag of $80. Following is the list of pre-order prices for all platforms:

  • Dragon’s Dogma 2 Standard Edition (Steam) – Rs. 4,474
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition (Steam) – Rs. 5,389
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2 Standard Edition (PS5) – Rs. 4,399
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition (PS5) – Rs. 5,299
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2 Standard Edition (Xbox) – Rs. 4,474
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition (Xbox) – Rs. 5,389

Included in the Deluxe Edition of the game are the following items:

  • Dragon’s Dogma 2 Full Game
  • A Boon for Adventures – New Journey Pack
  • Pre-Order Bonus 1
  • Pre-Order Bonus 2

The ‘Boon for Adventures’ pack encompasses the following items:

  • Explorer’s Camping Kit
  • 1500 Rift Crystals
  • Custom Sounds
  • Wakstone
  • Art of Metamorphosis
  • Harpysnare Smoke Beacons
  • Ambivalent Rift Incense
  • Heartfelt Pendant
  • Makeshift Gaol Key

Nintendo and Microsoft each launched Starfield and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom at a price point of $70. Joining these releases are other $70 games from this year, such as Forspoken, Dead Island 2, Hogwarts Legacy, and Wild Heart.

Unexpectedly, Dragon’s Dogma 2 comes with a higher price tag on PC in India compared to its console counterparts, a deviation from the usual trend. Typically, game publishers tend to offer AAA games at a lower cost on PC, often reducing prices by at least Rs. 500 to Rs. 1000. However, there has been a noticeable increase in regional game prices in recent years, exemplified by the notably high pricing of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.

This development follows several months after Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto expressed his belief that video game prices were “too low” during the Tokyo Game Show in September. At the event, Tsujimoto suggested that raising game prices would be a “healthy option” for the industry.

GTA Trilogy Coming to Netflix Games in December

Starting today, players can pre-register for these three games on iOS and Google Play. The games will be accessible within the Netflix mobile app and can also be obtained separately by Netflix subscribers through the App Store and Google Play.

The three games were released two decades ago and all of these games have mobile ports released years ago. In 2021, Rockstar Games published GTA Trilogy which includes the compilation of these three action-adventure GTA games for various platforms including mobile. However, Netflix license will make it even easier to find and play for free with a Netflix Subscription.

The addition of this latest GTA instalment from Rockstar enhances the value of Netflix memberships, incorporating one of the most iconic series in history, everything without any ads, in-app purchases, or additional fees as stated by the streaming giant.

Reports claimed that Netflix would offer the biggest games on its streaming service including titles based on its original TV shows. A report from WSJ also suggested that Netflix was in talks with Rockstar Games to bring GTA games to its platform which turns out to be true after all with the official announcement.

A report from CNBC has stated that only 1 percent of Netflix subscribers are playing its games. This new strategy of releasing titles based on TV shows and GTA games might boost the numbers and figures they hoped for.

GTA Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Andriod, iOS, Windows and Nintendo Switch. The game will be available for iOS and Android Netflix subscribers on Dec 14.

Pakistan May Not Host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Event to Take Place in Hybrid Model at Dubai

0

In a dramatic turn of events, Pakistan will not be hosting the coming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The host Pakistan will be replaced by UAE or the tournament will be reportedly played as a hybrid model like the Asia Cup if the Indian Government does not change its decision.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has pushed the International Cricket Council (ICC) to sign the Champions Trophy 2025 hosting rights agreements, emphasising that the PCB should not be reimbursed if India refuses to travel to Pakistan.

According to a highly credible source (PTI), while the ICC has picked Pakistan as the host, the international body has yet to decide whether or not to sign the crucial hosting agreement with it.

According to the source, PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf and COO Salman Naseer met with the ICC executive board in Ahmedabad to explore hosting the prestigious tournament in February-March 2025.

“Pakistani officials discussed the probability of the Indian board (BCCI) again refusing to send its team to Pakistan and made it clear that in any given situation the ICC must avoid taking unilateral decisions on the tournament,” a source said.

It can be said that the Indian team would be not travelling to Pakistan due to security and political reasons. Given the hazards, the Indian government is hesitant to send the Men in Blue to the neighbouring country.

“The PCB officials said many top teams had toured Pakistan in the last two years without any security concerns.

“They also made it clear that in case of India not sending its team and its matches being moved to another country, then the ICC must compensate Pakistan for this,” the source of PTI added.

Pakistan Hosted the Asia Cup 2023 before the ICC World Cup 2023. The matches involved India were played in a hybrid version and they were held in Sri Lanka.

Inaugurated in 1998, the ICC Champions Trophy is a One-Day International Tournament for the eight top-ranked One Day International (ODI) men’s national teams held by ICC.

The 2025-year trophy is the ninth edition of this esteemed championship in Cricket. It will take place from Feb-Mar in 2025. There are chances that the schedule for the Champions Trophy will also change because it may conflict with other major cricketing events, such as the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The last edition of this tournament was won by Pakistan against Team India which took place in England & Wales.
