GTA 6 has received its biggest official gameplay showcase yet, first on Netflix and now on YouTube.

After years of trailers, leaks, speculation and carefully controlled glimpses, Rockstar Games has finally given players a much longer look at Grand Theft Auto VI. The nearly 27-minute GTA 6 Extended Look premiered on Netflix on August 27 before becoming available on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel and the game’s website.

Captured entirely from in-game footage on the PlayStation 5, the presentation offers the deepest official look yet at Rockstar’s next-generation open world, its dual protagonists and the fictional state of Leonida.

GTA 6 Extended Look Reveals More of Jason, Lucia and Leonida

The extended presentation gives players a closer look at Jason and Lucia, the game’s two protagonists, as they navigate a crime-filled story across Vice City and the wider state of Leonida.

While previous trailers focused heavily on cinematic moments and the game’s world, the new presentation spends more time showing how Rockstar’s next open world could feel in motion. The footage includes police chases, shootouts, driving, underwater exploration and other activities spread across Leonida.

The scale of the world is one of the biggest takeaways. Rockstar appears to be pushing further into the kind of detailed and reactive open-world design seen in Red Dead Redemption 2, with the developers suggesting that players will encounter events and discoveries naturally rather than simply following icons across a map.

The Netflix-first premiere was also an unusual move for one of gaming’s biggest releases. The presentation initially debuted on the streaming platform before Rockstar made the full video freely available on YouTube, allowing players without a Netflix subscription to watch the extended look.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch on 19 November 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. With the release now drawing closer, the Extended Look could mark the beginning of Rockstar’s biggest promotional push yet for what is expected to be one of the most significant game launches of the decade.

You can now pre-order the game on the official sites of Rockstar Games, the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox Game Store.
