PlayStation is doubling the excitement with two State of Play broadcasts set to air back-to-back, bringing fresh updates from PlayStation Studios, third-party developers and creators from Japan and across Asia.
The first presentation will feature new announcements and updates from studios around the world, with PlayStation already confirming one major highlight. The broadcast will conclude with an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation, giving fans a deeper dive into Square Enix’s highly anticipated next chapter.
But the gaming announcements will not end there. Immediately after the main event concludes, PlayStation will launch another dedicated showcase focusing on games from Japan and Asia.
What to Expect From PlayStation’s Two State of Play Shows
The main State of Play will bring together updates from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners, although the complete line-up of games has not yet been revealed. The confirmed extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation is currently the biggest attraction announced for the showcase.
Following the global presentation, Japan’s broadcast will take over. Hosted once again by Yuki Kaji, the show will feature deeper dives into upcoming games from studios in Japan and across Asia, including new gameplay footage and announcements.
The decision to air two showcases one after another could make this one of PlayStation’s more significant presentation days of the year. The format also allows Sony to spotlight games from major global studios while giving Japanese and Asian developers their own dedicated platform.
For Indian gamers, the broadcasts will be particularly convenient, with the event scheduled for the evening. Both shows will be streamed live through YouTube and Twitch, with the main event presented in English. State of Play Japan, meanwhile, will air in Japanese with English subtitles available.
The two back-to-back broadcasts will begin on 3 September 2026 at 6:30 pm IST.
