Orangutan Gaming, the Ape Army are now the defending champions of Nodwin Gaming‘s Valorant Challengers South Asia Split 2. There are no words to describe the team’s performance but pure domination throughout the tournament. Orangutan is the same team that also won the VCA SA Split 1 tournament without dropping a single match and they have played this tournament the same, with zero losses. Moreover, the team received a whopping $35000 (approx. Rs 28.8 lakhs) for winning the Split 2 tournament.

The team also bagged a slot at Valorant Challengers (VCT) Ascension 2023 Pacific, a $100000 USD Riot-organized event that is set to take place in Bangkok from 28 June. Orangutan faced Reckoning Esports in a Best-of-five nail-biting Grand Finals and beat them with a 3-2 scoreline to become the champions of the event.

Throughout both the split 1 and split 2 tournaments, the team consistently held the top position in the group stage. As the Upper-Bracket team, Orangutan enjoys a 2-map ban advantage in the Grand Final.

Securing a spot in the Grand Finals was a challenging journey for Reckoning Esports, requiring them to navigate through the upper-bracket quarter-finals. Initially facing a defeat against Gods Reign in the Upper-Bracket Quarter Finals, the team rebounded by triumphing over True Rippers and Gods Reign in the Lower-bracket Quarter Finals and Semifinals, achieving scorelines of 2-1 and 2-0, respectively. In the Lower Bracket Finals against Aster Army, Reckoning emerged victorious, earning them a place in the Finals.

Ultimately, in the championship showdown, Reckoning Esports narrowly lost to Orangutan Gaming, concluding with a 2-3 scoreline.
